A POA or a Power of Attorney can cover various personal or business-related matters depending upon the requirement of the individual. It is a legal document through which an individual or a group of individuals can give powers to one or more persons to act on their behalf of them for a wide range of purposes. From buying and selling of real estate properties to opening bank accounts and companies, it is an essential document that can be used in various scenarios.
For creating a Power of Attorney in the UAE, it must be noted that the agent/ attorney (the one who is authorized via the POA to act on behalf of the principal) must be a UAE resident and must be above the age of 21 years and should be of sound mind and memory. The principal (the one who gives powers) should also be above the age of 21 years and should not be coerced or forced into giving such powers.
For making a Power of Attorney in the UAE, the documentation requirement are as follows:
